Love Yours

As I sit in bed with my son passed out on my husbands chest, humidifier blowing full blast, the annoying, yet soothing ticking sound of the ceiling fan, and a raggedy t-shirt draped over our lamp, I can’t help but smile as I realize that this moment with my little tribe is everything that I have ever wanted.

Ever since I can remember, I wanted nothing more in life than to be a mom. My parents got divorced when I was super young, 4 years old to be exact, so I think from an early age I was longing for that complete “family” aspect in my life. My dad was never around and I didn’t have a father figure to look up to, so I would play these scenarios in my head of what the perfect husband and father was like (tall, handsome, sensitive, the perfect cuddler… you get where I’m going with this lol). Fast forward 20 plus years later and a few heartbreaks along the way, I found what it was that I was searching for. Cue in my tall, handsome, sensitive, not so good at cuddling, amazing husband of mine, Adam. He was everything that I could have ever dreamed of and more. September of 2015, Adam and I exchanged vows and by that October, our dreams of starting our family were about to become a reality (fertile mertile over here). Our son Elijah was born on June 4th and our lives have forever changed for the better.

Becoming a wife and mother has been the greatest blessing in my life, but the journey it took to get to this point is what makes it that much more rewarding. We all go through our own struggles in life that define us and no one story is the same, but we do all have one thing in common, the gift of life; the gift to become and create anything we set our minds to. Having that said, Love Yours Blog was created.

You will never truly be happy until you “love yours.” (shout out to J Cole)

Welcome to my world.
